Central Air Installation Cost shows Denver-area homeowners what central air costs for a house like theirs. It covers replacing an AC, adding cooling to a furnace, and cooling a house with no ducts.
Estimates and installs
When you send photos or schedule an estimate, your request goes through Plenum, our estimating system, and an estimator follows up with a written price. The photos on this site are from our installs.
Where the prices come from
The ranges come from our recent estimates in the Denver area and are shown before rebates. Half of those estimates fall inside each range, a quarter below it and a quarter above it. The ranges for a heat pump with a new gas furnace and for a ducted heat pump follow our current pricing instead. Out-of-pocket figures are what most Xcel gas customers in the Denver metro have paid since October 1, 2026, after every rebate. We leave out income-qualified jobs with very large rebates, and we don't show a range when there aren't enough estimates of that kind.
Rebates and financing terms change. Xcel lowered its heat pump bonus for Xcel gas customers on October 1, 2026, so check the current rebate amounts and financing terms.
